A welcomed break - day respite Brunswick Heads & Lennox Head

A Welcomed Break is dementia-specific centre-based respite program with 2 locations in the Northern Rivers. The program operates from 10am – 3pm, each weekday at Brunswick Heads and 4 days a week from Lennox Head (public holidays excluded).

Our Welcomed Break Program is at the heart of our organisation that was founded in 1991 with the purpose providing a social and wellbeing outlet to local residents and a welcomed break for carers. Our program Facilitators, staff and volunteers are highly experienced in developing and delivering a high calibre of dementia care that enriches the lives of clients, participants and carers. A Welcomed Break is a highly popular program that builds connections through meaningful activities and engagement. Creative and enjoyable activities include gentle exercise, performers, arts & crafts, music and cognitive stimulation and enable people to experience, develop and social interaction while offering respite to the carer.

Transport is available from most locations and morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided.

Attendees can attend from a wide range of funding options, such as Commonwealth Home Support Program’s Centre-Based Respite, or utilise funds from a Home Care Package, self-funded. NDIS participants can also access this program through Group Activities in a Centre 1:3 Standard Weekday Daytime 04_170_0136_6_1
